Breast cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the cells of the breast. It can affect both men and women, but women are more likely to be affected. Breast cancer diagnosis and treatment have evolved as a result of substantial investments in research and public awareness efforts. Survival rates have increased enormously as a result of early detection and improved knowledge of the disease.

Regular screening can detect breast cancer early and it is easier to treat. When detected early, breast cancer has a 98% survival rate. Breast cancer screenings saves lives. It’s one of the more treatable forms of cancer. A woman’s risk of breast cancer almost doubles if you has a first degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Approximately 15% of women who get breast cancer have a family member diagnosed with it. Take a few minutes this Breast Cancer Awareness Month to arrange a screening. It may save your life.
