What are the little things we take for granted?

In the rush of life, we often overlook the small moments that hold deep meaning. From a cozy cup of tea to a comforting touch to the essence of life itself, these are the little things we take for granted. We often find ourselves racing toward grand milestones and significant achievements. And feel dissatisfied with life when these grand milestones are delayed. If only we could pause and reflect, we would realise that the richness of life lies not only in the extraordinary but also in the ordinary, in the intricate fabric of these seemingly insignificant moments that weave together to create a tapestry of our existence. Embracing the beauty of these overlooked moments might just offer us the contentment and gratitude we seek, allowing us to find joy in the journey rather than solely fixating on the destination.

Most importantly, if you think that being a Christian automatically shields you from any form of suffering, sadness, or pain, I respectfully disagree. Don’t let a single negative experience shake your faith in God.

The not so little things

You woke up in good health, meaning you have another opportunity at life. Bear in mind that others missed out on this. Others are battling with life elsewhere and would give anything to be fit and strong as you are or get just a day to correct their mistakes. As the saying goes, “once there is life, there is hope” so let’s start with practicing gratitude for life regardless of the situation we find ourselves in.

You have food on your table and clothes to wear. They might not be in the best form as you would wish them to be but hey! you are not walking around naked and with a rumbling stomach. All by His wonderful grace we still have something on our table. Bear in mind that others are dying from starvation and relying on others to clothe them; In all this, their faith never wavers. And yet, what about us?

This reminds me of my senior high school dinning hall prayer, ‘Some get but do not want, Some want but do not get. For all we have, we are truly thankful. AMEN!’

You have sight to see the beauty of his creations. We often take this for granted. Have you wondered how the clouds stay up in the sky and how the sun and moon know when to appear? I guess not.

I could go on and on, but the point is, irrespective of what you go through in life we shouldn’t forget to be thankful to our Maker and people he brings our way.

Going through bad times doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist.

In an exam, one error out of a lot of correct answers doesn’t render all your answers wrong. Going through bad times doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist. In fact, He does!!! He is shaping you to reach higher heights and potential than you can comprehend for yourself. Keep in mind that problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.

Whenever you feel down and are close to questioning His existence, pause briefly and start counting your many blessings and fish out the good in the bad situation. You will realise how truly blessed you are.

God has a reason for everything. Just believe and trust in him and take it a day at a time.

What are some of the little things you have been taking for granted?
